Liberty City is a census-designated place in western Gregg County, fifteen miles southwest of Longview and twenty-four miles northeast of Tyler. Being a CDP rather than an incorporated city matters more than it sounds - there is no city hall running a municipal water system, so properties here connect to county-area water supply corporations or to private wells rather than to a town utility.
That changes the first question on almost every call. Before diagnosing a pressure drop or a quality complaint we establish what a property is actually connected to, because a water supply corporation, a private well with a pressure tank, and a municipal main all produce similar-sounding symptoms for completely different reasons. Gregg County also means permitting runs through a different office than our Smith County work.

Liberty City sits between Tyler and Longview, and we cover the corridor.
Sitting roughly midway between Tyler and Longview, Liberty City is a genuine run for us rather than a local drop-in, so we plan the trip and carry the parts for the likely job rather than making two visits. On acreage properties the service runs are long, which means a leak between meter and house can go a long time before it shows up anywhere you would notice it.

Every home's plumbing is a little different, but most problems fall into familiar categories. Here is the full range of residential plumbing work we handle across Tyler and East Texas.
The best measure of a plumbing company is what customers say after the work is done. Here is what homeowners across Tyler and East Texas have shared about their experience.
Our licensed plumbers are based in Tyler, TX and serve all of Smith County and surrounding East Texas communities - reaching most service areas within 60 minutes.
Liberty City is a census-designated place (CDP) in west central Gregg County, strategically positioned a mile north of Interstate 20 along State Highway 135 and Farm Road 1252. This unincorporated community sits roughly 6 miles northwest of Kilgore, 8 miles south of Gladewater, and about 15 miles southwest of downtown Longview. So much of my work here involves coordinating with the Liberty City Water Supply Corporation, which services over 25 square miles of territory, far beyond the core settlement itself. Its location along the I-20 corridor makes it a practical, family-focused residential area for commuters heading into Longview or Liberty City.
In my decade of service here, 3 distinct problem patterns emerge. First, aging pipe materials: early 1990s polybutylene supply lines and original cast-iron drain stacks are reaching catastrophic failure thresholds-polybutylene leaches and cracks, while cast iron rusts paper-thin from the inside out, leading to sudden slab leaks or recurring drain blockages. Second, hard water scale: untreated Carrizo-Wilcox aquifer water deposits mineral layers that silently choke 3/4-inch copper lines down to a 1/2-inch opening over 5-7 years, dramatically reducing pressure and killing water heater efficiency. Third, outdated service connections: the 4-inch water main dating to the 1960s has long been undersized, and homes at the end of long rural runs off FM 1252 or Old Highway 135 frequently experience chronically low pressure during peak demand, until the ongoing main replacements reach them
The median home here is around 32 years old, with a substantial portion built during the mid-1990s subdivision wave, while another cluster dates to the oil-boom and post-war eras of the '40s through '60s. Roughly 61% to 80% of structures are single-unit detached homes, with a smaller share of manufactured homes scattered across larger rural lots. What I find consistently in pre-2000 builds is copper supply lines-excellent material, but now 25 to 55 years old and vulnerable to pinhole leaks from acidic East Texas groundwater conditions. Homes built in the '80s have a high probability of polybutylene piping, which we recommend replacing on sight. Foundations are predominantly concrete slab-on-grade, meaning any under-floor leak requires specialized acoustic detection and slab penetration, not a simple crawlspace repair.
With an average annual rainfall near 48-49 inches and distinct wet seasons, the expansive clay soil beneath Liberty City undergoes dramatic seasonal cycles of swelling and shrinkage. Heavy spring rains saturate the ground, causing the soil to expand and exert lateral pressure on underground pipes, while late-summer drought contracts it, creating the aggregate movement that stresses and eventually fractures aging copper and cast-iron lines. Winter introduces an additional threat: on roughly 42 nights a year, temperatures dip below freezing, occasionally plunging into the single digits as they did during February 2021. Pipes in exterior walls, uninsulated attics, and outdoor hose bibs without frost-free sillcocks are especially vulnerable, and during extreme cold snaps, we see a surge of burst-pipe emergencies as water freezes and expands inside compromised lines.
